After researching a site for a while and obtaining permission on Friday, I set out on a scout run yesterday for an old farm site. This morning was it and I decided to get my gear ready and hit the site on an inaugural run. I had a tip that there was an old house on the property but I didn't know where it was. I came to the end of the field and through the woods I came upon a very old stone foundation with some scattered old farm equipment. I began to hunt the area just past the foundation in a small clearing and that's when I got a good Zinc (55-62) reading on the F2. The pics tell the rest of the story.
I think it is an "older George" King George II half penny. Cant make out the date and I don't know if it is a counterfeit or not. The scans are the final result after peroxide. Weighs 120 grains or 7.8 grams.
