2 BOXES OF HALVES + SOME SILVER PURCHASED ($100 DEAL)

Friday's 2 boxes were skunks, again. which makes this week my worst, most dry week CRHing. i did find 6 CLAD proofs and about 1 roll of NIFCs but no AG.
yet, it was one of my best weeks in silver purchases and ebay hunting. ebay had this coupon for 10% off one item in selected categories and one of these was "jewelry and watches", so i was able to purchase 3/4 of an ounce of 18k gold scrap for about 14% off. and the morgan dollars i already posted here last week. these i sold yesterday for $875 (bought for $540).
anyway, i've posted a story here before about this store i found that had some very cheap silver for sale and how i've almost cleaned them out of everything (everything was priced 10-15 years ago). i went back there yesterday and made an offer to him for everything he had left. he didn't accept, but i did get SOME in a good price, imho:

10 silver quarters (1x SLQ, 9 WASH)
1 1936-d merc. dime
1 "1948" 1943 walking liberty half (originally priced $8 lol)
2 1903 indian pennies
and 2 mexican 1/2 REAL , 1 1742, 1 1749.

all these for $100. i think it was fair.
btw, thanks 'timbobwey' for advising me to go back and get the half reales.

Yonico, nice score. Your welcome for that advice, those are a wonderful piece of history. My favorite coin in my collection is a 1753 reales coin. They are the first real form of american currency, in fact they are how the quarter came about. They would cut a reales coin into 4 pieces and call them bits. Bits then became quarter dollars.
Both reales that you have in that picture look like they are in great shape, they would grade pretty high. I'd say just those 2 coins are easily worth more than the hundred you paid, probably quite a bit more. I'm glad you went back and got them.
