Hi all, nickels have been super slow for me, but I decided to buy 2 boxes anyway.
Hoping for a war nickel, the box came with a few more suprises.

I am searching looking for enders, and right in front of me, a Non-dated buffalo nickel obverse ender... sorry, no pictures :tongue3: I am not good with my camera.

I am getting straight to it. I scored notable finds:

Jefferson nickels: 1938p, 1942d(I needed for my collection, only 4 more holes left to fill)!, and a 1950p, all semi-key coins.
2 Non-dated philly buffalo nickels, one being an ender...

and...
a 1905 LIBERTY V NICKEL, my 2nd one ever in 4 years searching nickels.

HH,
"It's out there!"

Very nice. I love the V nickel.

As to the 1942, it looks like a 42P 35% silver. If you are looking for the 42D, I think that's a lower mintage coin. I've found the 42P in CU-NI, but not the 42D.

I also have the 42 in CuNi, but not in silver version. I have only 2 war nickles, one bought at melt, one at a quarter.

Great box BB, love the variety. Congrats on your 2nd V nickel. That one looks like it would grade VG. It has a partial Liberty in the headband.

Thanks all for the comments,
The 1942p nickel is a 35% silver war nickel. sorry, i did not specify on that.

In 1942, the non-silver nickels made: 1942(no mintmark above dome), as well as 1942d(mintmark in normal spot as a 1964 nickel(just using an example).

I found the 1942d nickel in this batch, i needed it to fill a hole in my nickel book, now the only dates I need are 38d, 38s, 39d, 42s, 43d, 44d, 44s, and 50d... though I will not go out and buy them, it's the thrill of finding them in the wild.

Sure, I could go trade 2 40% silver halves for an AU 1950D, but I will find it in the wild

nice finds. my luck with nickels has been pretty poor with the most interesting discover being an irish 5 cent euro. I thought it was a 50 cent, but then I realized it was a five with a globe next to it, not a five and a zero. your discoveries are much more interesting. lol.
