So I found this old house under construction about a month ago. Finally found the owner got the ok. He said two other guys beat me to it and found "a bunch of coins" . The house Is sfrom 1840s originally owned by a freed slave_ bought by her owner. Anyways heres what I found. The ones ottoman dated 1890 I think. The scissors are weird no blade

Nice finds :icon_thumleft:

What is the scissor looking thingy?

Blaze

I don't think that's a pair of scissors. Can you post some more pix and put in What Is It? Any sign of "blades" that were broken off, it looks smooth at that part? How does the bird attach? Back view?

It looks really neat! Maybe something to do with sewing, though it doesn't seem to be a "sewing bird" - they seem to have clamps. It's decorative and practical, so must have been something in use so much it was out in sight? Hmmmmm. :icon_scratch:

Hey, sorry for the confusion. The hummingbird is seperate. The "scissors" are complete never was a blade. They were broken @ the smaller ring area. I'll post them for the folks at what is it.

Duh, sorry, I should've seen that!!! The hummingbird distracted me!
I'd say candle snuffer, but it's too close to the finger holes - ouch!
Good luck, I'll be interested to see the answer!
