2 halves boxes 4/18/11

First time I picked up 2 boxes from my buy bank. Both were skunks for silver and NIFCs. Only one novelty half stood out, a chrome plated 1974 with 2 sections of chrome on opposite edges missing where they clipped it into an electrode. Not worth taking a pic of. Maybe I'll give it to a teller.

Stopped by my primary bank, the small hometown branch, to check on putting in another box order. The head teller there says she is still waiting for the other fellow to show up for the half box of halves that I left there last time. I offered to take them off of her hands and dump them for her, but she declined. It seems that she is determined to save them for him, despite I had already searched through them weeks ago. I would not have even returned them to her had she not requested for me to return that half of a box to her after I was finished with them. And she won't order another box until those are gone. Despite my banking with them for 15 years, customer service is sorely lacking at that branch.

I figured I would let her know that I am not pleased with her bad attitude about selling me rolls of coins. I told her I have opened accounts at several other banks, that they have been meeting my coin buying needs with no fees or hassles, and that I might be transferring most of my business to one of those other banks soon.

She probably isn't allowed to order more with some on hand. Since you're pretty new at this, the forum at least, I'll give you some advice. Wait till they're gone and then order more. Get them at another bank until then. Lecturing a teller that has ordered for you will get the ordering stopped all together. Instant karma's gonna bite you with that attitude.

I would give enough cash to one of my family members to buy what they have on hand and then go in the next day to order more. Never give them back any halves so you can keep ordering.

Believe me, I'm not worried about burning that bridge. She's given me nothing but grief every time I've tried to buy even a few rolls of coins from her branch, which happens to be the one closest to where I live. Every other branch of that same bank sells me as many boxes as I ask for with no fees or hassles, I just have to drive more than twice the distance to get to them. I have had a business account and a personal account with that branch for over 15 years, so it's not like I'm unknown there. All the other tellers there are very nice to me, but she's the only one that buys or sells all rolls of coins.

She recently asked me to dump all of my coins there, but with her attitude, I'm not so eager to help supply her with coins. Besides, why should I bother rolling coins to dump there when I can dump at another bank a block closer that has a coin counter.

Those halves will likely never be gone. The other CRH'er won't want them since they've already been searched, and she won't sell them to me. She insisted that I bring back the leftover halves after I searched them, otherwise I would have taken them elsewhere to dump.

If it were not for the great service that I get at the other branches of that bank, I would close my accounts with that bank and have my royalty payments and direct deposits sent to one of my accounts at another bank.
