Hey all. Went detecting today for about 2 hours. Didn't find much of anything. Not even a coin! Anywho did manage to find this dohickie. Any ideas on what it could be? Its solid and is maybe an inch long if that. Thanks for any help!

looks like part of a clasp

Hi,
I believe it is a small sliding bolt for a door of a cabinet. Maybe a kitchen or farm piece from the size of it.

I agree with the sliding bolt. I also think it could be an older small envelope opener???
