2 North Carolina Points Found Together

These two points were found together, could they have been made by the same guy? These two points are almost identical. Would like to know if they are Morrow Mountain or Adena Points? They were found in a plowed field in Beafort County, NC.

They look like morrow mountains to me. Sure they could have been made by the same Guy. That guy probably made hundreds. It also looks like they have both been resharpened at least once.

I have one specific field that yields beautiful points. Points that are worked to absolute perfection. Or.... Points that look like I made them at the age of three. I can't say for certain, but I feel pretty sure the nice ones were all made by the same ancient flint artist. I wander if the bad ones were made by a student of his. Thought about this time and time again. The natives had a full functioning society. I'm sure not every male was a flint knapper. I would also suspect the knapper held a high position in the society(better known as tribe). The medicine man was probably not far ahead of the knapper.

They look like Morrow Mtn. to me too. And, as Larson points out, I've heard theories that women made tools and points as well, maybe all of them while men were out hunting. Another of the mysteries the hobby holds close to the vest!

I agree with gator on this one.. I believe the have had a ton of resharpening...the base is huge compared to the blade...I always like the ones that were reused over and over...only if they could talk...I've also found identical points that were miles away from each other

True! Certain ages have their own unique flaking style. I know you have bound to have noticed in certain fields it looks as if a knapper was partial to one specific lithic. Not because that lithic was any more plentiful than what is in the field 1/2 mile down the rd. who knows? I think it's cool to think some are from the same creator.
