Hopefully our Virgin Roman Site will be harvest soon.
In the meantime these 2 Barley Stubble fields were a good back-up. Lots to dig as it has green waste on it as well as a little bit from each period. (note the burnt modern coins)
Glad we had the wind & the sandy soil is yet to dry out because we only lasted 4 hours in this heat. Cleared tons of junk.

18th C Honourable East India Company Button (nice catch)
1788-1800 Pewter 4th (Queens Own) Dragoon Button - We were hoping for an early Military off the 1st field & Cru'dad got this one.:icon_thumright:
16-17th C Fishscale Crotal Bell (the earliest type we find, we don't get too many whole ones of this type)
Scrap Silver
Nice 1854 French 10 Centimes
Jetton
1837 Four Pence - These were hated & didn't last long, it was a politicians idea to mint a 4 Pence because that was the London Taxi/Cab Fare at the time. But this meant the Cabby's never got the 2 pence tip from the 6 Pence, & some people thought they were 3 Pences!
1930 Sixpence

So another 2 silver day instead of the Hammered we aimed for, but all's good.8-)

Wow, you're a gluten for punishment hunting a field with green waste on it. When I'm over there, we avoid those fields, as the modern trash is too much for us. We avoid most of the hedgerows too for the same reason. Looks like you didn't do too bad though considering. :icon_thumright:

Not so much dropping as dumping.
