Picked up two boxes of halves over the weekend, skunked on both.

Dumped the halves today on my lunch break, found two keepers in the reject tray:

1952S Washington
1964D Washington

That puts me at 40 silver quarters total! 39 silver Washingtons and one dateless Standing Liberty. Finally collected a full roll of silver quarters, and it only took me since March 2012 to do it. Haha.

8-)

Picked up two more boxes of halves to search tonight.

Congrats on the roll of silver quarters! Ive still never found any silver in the reject trays and haven't found a silver quarter in at least 3 - 4 years so I'd say finding a full roll of silver quarters in less than 2 years is really good.

I picked up a box of halves and another $270 in mwr & cwr halves today. Hope we both have good luck searching tonight.

Skunks abound! Ugh.

I haven't found anything, in any boxes or in any reject or teller trays, for at least two weeks.

That is until today...

Threw a handful of loose change in a coin machine today, found a keeper in the reject tray: 1963 Roosie.

Just wondering...I'm just getting started with CRHing started yest. with $350 in dimes(skunk) but I asked if they could order a few boxes of halves for me and they said the boxes come straight from the fed reserve and all the halves will be newer...is this true and the case for every bank? Or should I not waste my time

Adam, sometimes boxes come from the fed in brand new 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2001 boxes. I've even heard of some solid 1994 boxes also.

Threw a handful of nickels into the coin machine today, found this bad boy in the tube leading to the reject tray:

1982S Proof Washington's Birth Commemorative

Sorry for the bad quality. My phone sucks, and I'm not much of a photographer in the first place. Haha.

Picked up three boxes of halves yesterday on my lunch break, didn't get around to searching them until late last night.

Between the three boxes I found eleven keepers, two 90%ers and nine 40%ers:

1964 x 2
1966
1967 x 4
1968D x 3
1969D

Wow mastermind great avgs! I too, finally got some good numbers this week...

Congrats on that washington commemorative, I found 2 of those a couple months back... pretty neat!

Those pics of it, do you have like super huge hands or something? Maybe its cause I just woke up, but I swore that coin looked the size of a nickel in your hand lol, until I read the half dollar on the bottom :P

Thanks! Those boxes were the first in a little over two weeks that weren't skunks.

Haha, my hands aren't abnormally large or anything. I suppose they are on the bigger side though.

Picked up three boxes of halves earlier today, just finished going through them. One was a skunk, but the other two gave up eight keepers between them:

1948 Ben
1966 x 2
1967 x 4
1968D

Not a bad start to February!

Your getting some good boxes the last couple of days. And congrats on the '48 Ben too. I don't recall many people finding '48 or '49 Ben's. I don't think I ever have either. What kind of condition is it in?

Good stuff! Dimes have been horrible for me lately. So bad that nickels are outperforming them :P but this hobby sure ebbs and flows.
Good luck this week.
