This object was found last night 3 feet down in wet sand. It is made of some type of hard clay material and has a thin layer of metal plating on one side. Also has two groves that show signs of previous wood planks. Modern trash or something old? Any thoughts? I also posted on what is this section.

Very strange, off a boat maybe?

Something that was at the base of a dock or pier maybe? Isn't the material cement?

It doesn't look like modern cement, but that is probably the most logical conclusion. My son has taken the item to an expert friend to find out if it could be related to something historical. I'll post the expert's opinion too when he gets back to me.

Never know what you will dig up.

Interested to hear what it may be.

HH,

Pete

It appears to be an Iron object that has been encrusted. The rust is leaching through the crusting. If there is any concrete Which I'm not sure I see there is Iron in it possibly rebar. Check it with a magnet all over.looks like a piece of a seawall of some kind.
