3 years and 15 minutes of hunting today. A cap bust halfdime

I have hunted and hunted my property for close to 3 years. From finding my first flat button to my 1899 Indian head penny. Knew there had to be older coins. Today I dug a jumpy signal 40-70s found a square nail checked the hole nothing but there a bit of loose dirt to the right of my hole saying high 80’s to 90 that wasn’t there before. Turned on the pinpointer found a round coin thought a small button or another penny it wasn’t. I saw the bird and shield on the back. 1835 cap bust halfdime I am beyond excited. What makes digging all that trash worth it.

Thanks there are 2 old deep scratches or else it would had almost been flawless. I think the condition is amazing still though. It was lost pretty early in its life.

Wow that is one nice find, congratulations. I guess I need to get these cataracts removed soon, I enlarged both photos looking for old deep scratches and didn't see them. I agree I also think it was lost early in life. Very nice indeed!! Now excuse me while I go and try to wash this green off my skin.

You scored a real beauty. It has been said many times before, dig the iffy signals. The nail was trying to hide the treasure from you, but you dug the trash and found the treasure. Congratulations on a wonderful bucket list find. Stay safe and keep swingin.

Beautiful find. That coin is high on my bucket list. Pinpointers are a must. I have had good tones disappear all together after digging my plug, only to stick my pointer in the hole to find a coin. Nice job... congrats!

After all this time I knew I needed to start digging more nails and iffy signals to find this stuff. I had found some pennies Lincoln cents and I figured If I’ve missed those there might be something else in that line I missed so I went down that line digging any kind of signal.
