4/22 Local buy price quote on 40% halves

......is $4.55 ea......coming from one of the largest shops in Michigan. I usually sell when I get a few rolls, but I think I'll hold for awhile. ffd

Did the buyer say that with a straight face?

I paid $5.29 for a 40% at a flea market several weeks ago. I got only one, because a guy bought absolutely everything else in the case just moments before I got there...he let me have the single 40%. He bought about 20 JFK 40%'s in total, plus about $1300 worth of 90%'s.

In Indiana, there is 7% sales tax on top of that, so I paid $5.66 total.

A cople week ago they was paying $5.10 for 40%er's here in Toledo, Oh. With the price of silver up more I would bet they are paying more now......Matt

Wow, the dealer I sell to bought my 40%ers when silver was at $36.50 an ounce and he paid over $5 per coin then. I bet he'd pay at least $6 per coin now. Don't sell to that guy for $4.55, that's a joke.

I hear you. This shop does quite a lot of business, and the owner writes many investment articles that you may see on Coinflation.com
I will probably just wait for the next coin show, that's where I get my best deals. I have listed rolls on Craigslist to sell locally, but the ads have gathered cobwebs at even 30% below melt before. I just spoke to another buyer locally, that wants nothing to do with 40%, and it's a buck apiece.

Serious....big time rip. You should be getting $6-$6.25. If not hit CL and advertise "silver under spot" and you will sell them for that all day long

Ahhh he is just being shrewd then and doesn't want to deal with the small stuff, but if he does, he will be handsomely rewarded.

Stevo, my ads have sat on Craigslist with no activity. I ended up selling at about 25% below 3 weeks later.

I've never dealt with these guys but its food for thought. They're paying roughly $6.40 per coin. Minimum $100 Face.

I had a coin shop offer my $1.00 per silver quarter. I feel bad cause I actually laughed at her. She was incredibly rude though.

Around here they are paying over 6 bucks per coin. If you need to sell you would do better on Apmex or a site like that if you cannot wait until a coin show.

I just sold $750 face value of 40%ers to APMEX at $6.10 per half. That was when silver was $43.40 an ounce so they should be paying about $6.50 to $6.75 each now. Registered mail shipping with 10K insurance was less than $45. :thumbsup:

I got $6 each yesterday and was happy as can be. I was expecting $5.25 - $5.50. When he said $6 It made my day. Swapped it all for 90%.

I got $5.25/40% at a coin show on 4/20, when Ag was still around $41.50/oz. The price you're getting seems like you're being gouged to me. Find a coin show in your area and shop around there. You'll have lots of buyers and you can compare a bunch of offer, as opposed to going to the only game in town, as it were.

Silver closed at 45.50 on 4/20. Kind of looks like maybe you got a bit gouged too if you were quoted at 41.50 on that day.

Some place near me is advertising that they are buying all silver coins for 15x face, and the best offer I have received so far for 40%s is $4.00 each, and that was just this past week. Needless to say I still have mine ::)
