Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the best looking/oldest wheatie I have pulled to date!!! 1917-S

Very rare to pull a wheatie this old in such good condition here in Oregon. Our soil really kills them! But I found this one where some old steps were...Protecting it, I assume. It was only 1" down ;D I also pulled another wheatie, I am trying to get a date off it...Dang Oregon soil! ::)

Don't forget 4 hours in the park gets you: 4 hours of freedom from stress, burnt calories and the envy of a bunch of T-Net members when you post. ;D :o

Cool digs.

Not bad! Where you located? I'm an Oregonian also.
Portland area. Going out later today to try my luck.

Good finds, Storm. My one hour hunt at the beach over the weekend only produced two pulltabs. It had definitely been cleaned out before I got there.

good looking wheat... age of park?

It was an amusement park in 1907-29. Now it is a city park. Oh heck, I will show some pictures.... Not like I am trying to keep the park a secret ;D

That is a sweet wheat for these parts. I found a 1925d the other day and played heck figuring out that date. The soil is indeed hell on coins here. I am sure you have found stuff like two year old pennies that are only half there. It's quite common here on the coast.

Nice finds,

The wheat held up great. They get really bad here in p.a to. The indians are even worse.

Way to go on those finds Trooper! And from the looks of those pics, you have a lot of area to hunt! :o

Nana :)

Nice finds for hunted out! HH, Mike

good thing it was a hunted out park you would have gotten tired from all that digging great haul hh

So, your one of those clad stackers..... :D

Very nice wheat penny. Good date too. ;D We rarely find S mint mark pennies here in Ohio. Shoot, we hardly find D mint mark pennies either.

Yeah....Guilt as charged!

Hello.....My name is Stormtrooper.......and I am a clad stacker ;D

I wish the public places around here still had lots and lots of old coins, but thats just not the case. I hope one day I am able to show off stacks of silver coins. I am doing my research, however other before me have done there's also :'(

Storm,
Love the old postcards & advertisement you added to the post. Very cool.

Nice wheat, Storm. Looks like a good place to hunt. Even if it has been hunted heavy you will find some keepers. HH Sonny
