5 colonial "scrappies" coppers, buttons incl. a blowhole

I got out to two spots over the weekend. The buttons came from the first spot, and the coppers came from the second. First the blowhole and other buttons.



The next spot was actually my buddy Charlie's, where him and Bart scored a rediculous amount of coppers and reales the day before. Great spot, but it must have been an acid-dumping ground afterward because I scored the #1 Roached bunch of coppers ever. After soaking for two days, I verified a Draped bust Large Cent, 3 KG2's, and one unknown Brit.



Believe it or not, I did get those ID's, but I'm not going to try to get the angle on those mofo's for a picture. A big thanks to Charlie and Bart for the site. #*******sofbramble on Instagram

I have 5 large coppers, but it took me three years to find them.

Yep, they can't all be winners. I look at these coins as sacrifices to the coin gods - and they'll hopefully shine down upon a rare coin or relic. Lol

With very little time, you must make every minute count bud. I practice and try to make recoveries as quickly as possible, under a 1/2 minute if I can help it

Those are some nice buttons-especially the oval-shaped one (possibly a cufflink?) and the blowhole. It's a shame about the coppers, but at least you made Crusader proud by calling them "scrappies." Who know, maybe he "coined" that phrase after your screen name?

Funny enough thing is I had the site marked through my research. It just so happened it overlapped my buddies research and they got to the site first. What I had marked there were two houses. Later on the houses were demolished and a school was put in. Since those coppers are older than all those buildings I mentioned, I'm figuring there was a tavern or trading post first. There wasn't very many buttons, and mostly small change scattered about. Dunno. But with all the corrosion I would like to say it was farmed as well. It's a mystery to me Bill

Haha, thx Glen. I believe the term "scrappies" came about wayyyy before my screen name. I'm not sure if the oval button is a link. My guess is it's a button due to its size. Cheers
