5 silver day + relics

O.K. so I only found 3 of them & my partner found 2, but we found them in the same outing at the same place. We had arrived at the field that we thought would be harvested beans this year, & were disappointed to see that it was disked over corn. You just tend to lose ground coverage with those huge clumps of dirt & corn stalks. My partner struck first with 2 Mercs a 1919 and 1920 . I then dug a 1943 P silver War Nickel. After that came the crotal bell, all metal shotgun shell, & the compact case complete with "war paint", & part of the applicator still inside. ( I was hoping for more coins ). Soon after, the 3 - 1944 Wheats showed up & then the 1896 Indian Head. Moving on to what I guess would be a few rows away came the 1841 Seated Liberty Dime & 1914 Barber Dime. If my partner would have been nice, he would have left me a Merc so I could get the dime trifecta, & it would have been the hard way since I dug the Seated first then the Barber. This was one great hunt. My dad passed away a week and a half ago, & I know he was there with me since I dug the 1943 P War Nickel first. That was the year he was born & he was letting me know that he was walking with me on this one. Thanks Dad, that hunt was for you.

People are alive as long as they are remembered. Your dad will be with you the rest of your life. It's cool that you found the 1943 nickle 1st. You may not have dug much, but you dug quality items. I'd love to pull those coins in one hunt.

It's always a nice day out when I dig a 1919 as it brings back lots of memories of my Dad as well. Nice hunt getting the silvers and the bell.

Love the finds and the connection to them. In your relics what is that little circular compact? I have found one of these myself but am not sure what it is? This little metal compact I found close to the same dig of a 1920's quarter so am assuming around the same era.

It is a females makeup case. Mostly for face blush or "rouge" as they called it back in the day. Most of them were in that 1920's era. Some earlier & some later until they came along with the dreaded plastic & glass jars.
