Out for a hunt again today.....broke my SandShark last time out .... so took my F75 for a run.

Noisy as hell....but wasn,t too bad of a day althoughh little chilly...was ok til got my gloves damp.

Found the anchor button and pipe shortly after arriving on the site.... right where we had already gone over a few times.. .guessing the noisy F75 s are hiding some targets on us .

Was ready to call it quits for the day...on the way back came across the lock...was a solid big hit and a pleasant surprise....beautiful old lock...but the back is missing ..blaaaaa....looked around but couldn,t find it....maybe next time.

Then came across the small buttom just before exiting the site....not sure what it says on the front of it.

Well worth going out in the cold i think and was fun.

I like how you just happen to slip in your old hash pipe, bahahaha lol
I hate when my gloves get wet, you look like you found some great stuff, I would say it was worth it.

Damn that anchor button is beautiful! You are rolling buddy! Rolling

Was waiting for the post.
Amazing the lock is not seized.
Wish I could see that button a little bigger, I don't know much about such things, but might well be military too ?

Ya ..found the lock already open...and was loose....amazing the saltwater hasn,t destroyed stuff.

I don,t know how to post a bigger pic of the button... I suck at doing things on the computer....but I got a microscope for xmas..plugs into the computer...think i can get a good picture of it..will try.

That's sure looking like another early military button, probably Rev War. Your pic is just a little too blurry to see it well. ....maybe not so much blurry, just tough to tell.

Best I can get... the microscope just makes it look distorted and unreadable

My first guess was 30th, but since it looks nothing like the Rev War 30th, it's a variant, or more likely dates to the period and wasn't a regiment that fought (so the pic is not in my book) or it dates just after 1783. I have no idea, but if I had one shot for a million dollars my guess would be it's 3Q ...for 3rd Queens Dragoons. I have absolutely nothing to back that up, but there is Queens Dragoons buttons from at least 1st through 4th.

Instead of Q, it could be G for Guards... but it does not match the 3rd Guards buttons listed, or the 2nd Guards, at least the Rev War period ones. Could be tough!

You will figure it out .

You are the guy that usually ID,s almost everything on here !!

I don,t know enough about these things to even hazard a guess.

LOL...not hardcore...just winter driving me shackwhacky !!!!!!!!

Rather hunt when its cold than when it,s sweltering hot actually....heat drains me.,,,,but good hunting spots are not as easy to find in the winter.

Without you saying for sure what's in the center, me seeing it in person, or just happening to come across another one to match, I know that's where it ends for me. The letters or numbers or whatever they are is really all that counts and without knowing them you know nothing. All the other factors do point at it being early military for me, but that and a wild guess is all that's possible. Hopefully somehow it does get ID'ed but there's also a chance you'll look at that button for the years to come and not know.... it happens.

Well it is nice just to know that much.....as have nothing to offer for a ID.

If you don,t know for sure then pretty good chance no one does either.,... but appreciate the effort.

That is the best picture for ID.... anything more zoomed in just distorts it .
