Rock Springs in central Florida...shallow, cold water with tons of people swimming and tubing in a small area...been closed to metal detecting for many years.

Nothing like a known honey hole! What crap we the people can't hunt it,such are laws my Friend,I just don't agree.

Great Post !!!!! Makes people think ,,,,, Great idea you thought up -------------- I am still pondering an answer

Kavehnj, that's why I haven't given an answer, still thinking. But I still think it would be like tombstone or the ok corral any old west site. It would be amazing to go back in time and have a metal detector in 1850.

Assuming I would be left alone to hunt......Central Park in New York City on a clear, calm, late spring day, 72 degrees, two days after a good rain, circa 1935.

If you were given 8 hours to take your metal detector ALONE anywhere in the USA, where would you choose? And why? Only one rule... It has to be OUTSIDE in the GROUND. (Not outside Fort Knox getting a reading from down in the basement) haha

I Refuse to answer under the Grounds ,
Because of the lack of Sense of Humor of some,
it would Upset many, Even though your question Suggests Fantasy Answers.

Castillo San Demarcos and any/all of the surrounding areas- St. Augustine Florida.

The ledges just below the rim of the Grand Canyon. Tourists have been tossing good luck coins over the edge for over a century.

The lawn of the state capitol in Tallahassee.

That way I could show them all the neat stuff I found and when they looked back at the lawn they would see no holes. Just cleaner than when it was when I started.

Then maybe they would enact nicer legislation towards our hobby.

Anywhere there's a large pirate's chest of gold & jewels that is within my detectors depth range, or in front of a very large vein of gold, can we have a backhoe too? Or in one of the caves that contains a ton of ancient gold and artifacts ... Too many choices! Not enough time.....is this taxable?

warm beach pretty much anywhere...

Now you have to tell us your pick.

Old Mrs. Quackenbush's big azz lawn that used to be a horse race track and fairgrounds back in the fifties down the street from me. 1850's.
