If you owned an AirBnB, what metal detector would you let your guests use?

If you owned an AirBnB, what metal detector would you let your guests use? Would a Minelab Xterra Pro be a good compromise between value and capability for beach hunting on the Gulf Coast of Florida?

I just looked up the Minelab Xterra Pro and its price is comp... so I would go with it instead.
Plus waterproof... Ace is not.

That just gave me an idea. A bit different than the post but has anyone stayed in a historic Airbnb or very old one just to detect it for a few days if owner was ok with it?

Why not buy what arc said and rent them out. Be sure to hit the coin shops and pick up a few old ones to show the guess what's been found.

I think I will grab one of those two detectors, still open to other brands/models. The coin shop is a hilarious idea, I’ll skip that one though lol!!!

Well you could instead seed the beach with some pre 64s and cheap sterling jewelry. That way they can enjoy the thrill of finding treasure. Nothing wrong with that. Kinda like your really not on a real African safari at Disney's animal kingdom. 😃

Yes and vacuums seal a couple pairs of high riding tube socks with colored stripes. Put them in the dresser. Maybe some short shorts and some high strength sun tan lotion.

I stayed at an Airbnb in Savannah a few years ago, had it all lined up with permission to beep from the host. 1800s house….I got there, grass up to my waist. FFS

Most people don't respect other people's things IMO ! If they haven't put out the $$ to buy it they don't take care of it ! That's why I stopped loaning out thing or pushing snow off their driveways ! Now I just tell them I can't do it because my back hurts ! When I have thing's break or needs repair, NOBODY IS THERE TO HELP ME !

In the past, I stayed at quite a few AB&Bs and couldn't get permission to hunt the grounds from any of them. Not because they opposed it, but It was a liability issue for them. On several occasions, the staff shared the names of people close by that might allow me to hunt. Some did and some didn't.

I'd let them use whatever detector they wanted to bring with them. No way I would supply one.....free or rented. I also would tell them that they can detect all they want on the beach, but, not on my property. There are just too many knuckleheads out there that don't care about damaging other people's property to let just anyone detect it. If I'm there and they can give me a demonstration on how they make a recovery, maybe. That would be on a case by case basis. Chances are they won't find any good targets anyway, as I would have already detected the heck out of that place.

yeah, not a bad idea. That’s why I’m hesitant to even buy a “cheaper” one.
