Hello Everyone,
I had a better than average day yesterday finding the deep silver at my local parks. I was trying to figure out where I wanted to go to recover my 600th silver of the year, so I decided to try a park where I had my first 12 silver day in March. I have been back to this park a few times, pulling a few silvers here and there. I was completely surprised to find 6 more silvers in one of my previously hunted areas yesterday. After that area dried up, and I was struggling in other areas of the park, I decided to meet my detecting buddy, Mike(oknorom), at another park. I was detecting a baseball/soccer field that has produced a good amount of silver in the past. The field was starting to get crowded from all the sports enthusiasts, so I stayed on the perimeter, and dug a few wheaties, an older style silver ring, and 2 mercury dimes. It was a great day, having met my last silver milestone for the year. Maybe I should try for a wheatie milestone (#3000)
We'll see.
One thing I'd like to make everyone aware of after reaching my milestone is that I've worked quite hard to find what I did this year, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't find any caches. All coins, aside from some pocket spills, were individual digs. I can't imagine how many deep plugs I dug this year. I don't have a log of my hours spent out in the field, but it's way up there. That's what it took to find the large numbers. A lot of patience, parks, lesche diggers, kneepads, gloves, plugs, trash, gas, and free time. And of course, a growing love for the hobby.
Thanks for looking.
Happy Holidays Everyone!!
