Slow hunt around a different cellar hole today . After two hours I had three finds . The 1838 LC came first right off the bat the minute I I arrived at the cellar . This was encouraging but an hour later I had only added the thimble to my finds . Then popped a thin silver bigger than a dime smaller than a quarter ! I was sure I had Spanish ! It is definately silver though it is worn smooth on both sides , I am figuring it was a one Reale . A few buckle piecies , one musket ball and a couple of other do dads ! Thanks for looking and happy treasure hunting MaineRelic

I gave it a try IP ! I ended up with a shinier blank silver coin LOL oh well it was worth a try ! MR

I've probably cleaned 4 that way, and a couple it worked giving some trace detail, and the other two nothing at all. I still remember my blank silver disk, was sort of during a slump and dug it out thinking even when something goes right it still goes wrong.

Great stuff buddy. Funny I found a 3 Merry Widows cover a while ago and got a good laughter at it. Antique condom case. Banner find :-) I guess it depends who used it...some people just shouldn't have kids

man that would kill me to have that coin and not know what it was! Either way awesome finds!

Congratulations on some nice finds. I found my Merry Widow's tin in a church yard.
