After some good rain the other day I thought I would look around at any washed out areas around the yard. I found this little piece down at the bottom of my yard drainage pipe. My highly-inexperienced is-it-worked-meter is pretty much pegged with parts of this stone but I would much like to see some other opinions to see if I am on the right track. As a side note, the particular drainage was redone about a year and a half ago and so all the dirt around the area had been dug up. I have not found anything else that resembles this piece in that area before. Any thoughts?

Happy hunting,
Eric

Yes its worked but broken also. Is all the pics of the same artifact?

Hi Rock,
Yes, they are all the same piece. It certainly does seem to be broken.

I couldn't help but go back and dig around the spot again. I dug out a spot that seems to catch rocks as they wash out of the dirt and found this other piece, also broken. Of course not at all similar to the first one but it also looks worked to me. This other piece seems like a piece of silicified sandstone or coral. The chips are not quite as regular/defined but I think that could be just a difference in material. Would love to hear more thoughts on #1 and thoughts on #2. I am starting to think I might be looking in the right place finally. :)
