A Day OF Digging 3 What Is It

[Bubba65]

Hi All,

I dug these three items today. I have no clue what anyone of them might be. I figured I would post them in the same post. Oh the second find is very pliable like a pull tab would be. I thank you for any help that you may be able to give.

The last one looks like the broken off ends of some kind of flatware.

[Bigcypresshunter]

The first one may be an ear ring.

I dont know the size of the last item but it looks like 2 halves of a powder flask.

My thoughts exactly about both. And I agree with child's ring.

[Felinepeachy]

Wow, I guess they're a lot bigger than they look LOL

[Bubba65]

I took some pics of a tape measure next to the third item Bigcypresshunter. Both sides measure 6 inches in length.

Thanks ,

Sure looks like a powder flask. Heres a similar design.

No, I was referring to pic 001 (funny earing)

...but thats a good example of the many broken powder flasks that are found.

The 1st looks like something off a brass monkey........

[Dano Sverige]

Cricketers (sportsmans) "box" was my first thought too lol.

[DirtDigler]

Agreed, powder flasks. Smaller ones were often for priming powder to prime the pan, which was different than the rifle powder. Sometimes for boot pistols or derringers.

[kuger]

Def,both halves of a powder flask,I have dug several of the exact example

That why I said I didnt know how to search. Im pretty sure one was posted before.
I was thinking to use the keywords "hanging scrotum earrings."

[Monty]

Oddly enough, I agree with the brass monkey theory. That's what it looks like to me! Monty

I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad you used that word and not me.]

[Bigcypresshunter]

Those are some ugly earrings or whatever they are. I have seen them before; I think maybe here at TN. Look closely for any markings.
