I got together with my brother and dug a couple privies. This is the first time we were bottle digging together in 17 years. When we dug together years ago he was the luckiest bottle digger around. The pits were located in the garden area so there was no grass to save. The first pit was small and pretty empty. We had it knocked out in one hour. The second pit was 5' X 4' and was 6 1/2' deep. Most of the stuff we were finding was from the turn of the century. I had my XLT along and found a metal bird whistle and a couple buttons. When I came across the doll head in the layer I figured it would make a good picture. Pretty scary looking! The head was intact and the two brown eyes were in the dirt inside. There are a couple pics of me in the hole. The other pics show what we found. It wasn't the most productive yard but it was fun digging with my Bro again! Thanks for looking. DD.

Nice bottles......The doll head is kind of spooky...

I can't imagine how they lost those false eyes in the latrine. I guess they should have paid attention when looking!
You have some great bottles there.

The doll head could be worth something. check the back of it where the head and neck come together to see if there is a makers mark. Keep the eyes with it too. It's a really cool find! :icon_thumright:

My lovely wife and I have recently found a bottle dump, I thought all the goods were just laying inches within the soil...you've tought this grasshopper much, bullfrog...much digging is to be done.

thank you

Lots of good doll books etc on line, and eBay makes a decent price guide if u can find similar on it.
