Relic Hunting
Did a few hunts in the last two weeks or so. Only a very small portion of my fields is harvested at this moment, so I don't really have many options as to the sites I can explore. But I still managed to pull a few good relics and coins.

One of my favorite finds is this tiny mid 1700's Trade belt axe, probably one of my earliest ones.

An other good relic was my first antler pipe. Looks to be carved from a deer antler? Couldn't be happier with this one as I love early pipes.

Than an other good one, my 3rd anthropomorphic clay pipe.

A few coins in ''fields'' condition. Two US large cents (1827-1840), Wellington Halfpenny 1814 and Lower Canada 1837

My first Temperance medal. Struck in 1849 for the Father Theobald Mathew tour of the USA

Two military Victorian buttons from 1850's-1860's

Some musket flints (got 7 in all, only 3 in the pic)

Lead soldiers, probably late 1800's

Many more finds that I unfortunately didn't get the chance to take a clear pic of or gave away to the land owners.

Getting anxious about the possibility of the late harvest yet again this year. Lots of rain in the forecast ...

Thanks for the comments.

Outstanding recoveries!
Congrats.

Great recoveries. I like the ax best!

What an excellent variety of finds! I love that antler pipe and the gun flints! :icon_thumright:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

I have to say you are one of the most productive detectorists on this forum. Keep it up! Gary

I really like the pipes and the axe is a beauty and should clean up real nice. The coins came out of the ground in nice condition as well. Great outing. Congrats

Wow the pipes and gunflints are amazing! The buttons are in wonderful condition and the coppers. You got all the bases of awesome covered here.

I forgot to mention the trade axe. That thing will probably look incredible once you clean it up. The temperance token is cool too!

You got some very cool finds there Aureus. I don't recall ever seeing an antler pipe posted before. That is quite a nice find.:icon_thumright:

Nice belt axe (belt axe unless found in a fur trade context) and significantly earlier than the other finds, with the possible exception of the gun flints. Did it come from a different site? The coins buttons and pipes are all very nice finds.

Great coins and relics ! Nice condition for them as well !! I haven't seen musket flints like that posted here I don't think ..

I love the pipes you have been finding, the coins, buttons and other relics aren’t bad either, jk! Congrats

Amazing jobs on the old coppers. I gotta do some research around here and see if there are any fields that have been continually planted going back to the mid-1800s. That's about as early as we get.

Those are some great end of summer finds.

sweet digs!!!

I found a few stone tools and weapons at that axe site, not sure if it's trade related or not. The axe is from a different area than the other finds.
