A few good colonial finds this past 2 weeks
HI everyone
I just got my new Garretts AT Pro about 2 weeks ago now. Below are the pictures of the best finds for the past
2 weeks here in New Hampshire. This is proof that there is still soooo much out there for us to find.
The King George copper is the best yet that I've found. You can read
all the words on the front of the coin and has lots of detail on the face. On the back you have a little more
worn spots, but still otherwise in great shape dated from 1751 or 1757, can't quite tell.
The silver 1/2 dollars were also in great shape too. One was from 1943, the other
being from 1876. Obviously the 1876 was more worn, but they were the first 1/2 coins
I ever found.
As far as the belt buckles, I think some might come from a horse harness or something.
I found all 6 within about 30 minutes on one property.
The 3 steel balls I found were interesting. The smallest one I've been told is a dueling ball that they
used to duel to the death with. This weighed in at 1.1 grams and is made out of lead.
The next largest was a steel shot that was shot out of a cannon. This weighed in at 8.6 grams.
The largest of the 3, I found in a steel container. So I don't know if this is a bearing or something like
that or even how old this is. It weighed in at 15.2 grams.
I found plenty of other more common coins and junk, but I know you just want to see the good items.
Happy Hunting to you all.
