A first for me today

Beautiful day here in NJ so decided to do a little metal detecting down back along the Rancocas Creek. It is an area covered with brush, trees, and briars and was once used for a dumping ground back in Victorian times. I have detected here many times before. Was very excited to find my first iron stirrup deep beneath the base of a very old and very dead tree. Also found another old NJ license plate (1929), another old mason jar lid, an old butter knife, an old horse ring, a valve stem from an old car or truck, part of an old clock, an old egg slicer, 2 old rifle shells, etc.

Very cool,, some of that stuff can be cleaned with a vinegar bath.
