After a short drought, I had a decent box the other day. This was the best find from it - a 1776-1976 s silver proof. Coincidentally, the box also had a 1776-1976 clad proof. I should have taken a picture, and compared them side by side, as I know a lot of folks (myself included) have been wondering how different they look. I'll make sure to add the comparison photo to the thread.

Cheers and HH!

The silver proof version is more white than the clad version even when comparing the obverse and reverse.

Congratulations on your first silver proof bicentennial!

Nice find! I found a clad proof bicentennial not long ago. It was with nine other clad proofs in a CRW. All of them were in great condition. To bad they weren't silver.

Took me awhile to find my first and, oddly enough, it came very shortly after finding my first clad bicen proof. Nice find. HH

Found my first Bicentennial Silver last week. I wasn't expecting it either. I think yours looks a bit nicer than mine, but hey, a silver proof is better than no proof!
I know I was excited. Hope you are too! Congrats.

Absolutely - glad to hear you found one as well!

Also, seems like we have a lot of Josey Wales fans here
