Detector(s) used
Minelab, Fisher, Teknetics and more!
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I know this may be common for you seasoned detectors out there -but for me this is exciting.... Since acquiring my detector six weeks ago, my highlights usually include some clad. Today I had about an hour to hunt around a ballfield on the former site of an old 1877 built school, thinking it would be a good place to continue to learn about my machine.

Well to my surprise, the dime signal I saw was a good one - a 1945 Merc! :o Its only my second silver - this dime and a 1943 Nickel (well, partially silver anyhow!) that was picked up about a month ago.... Hopefully there will be a few more before the year is up. ;D

Good looking coin
I'm still hoping for my first Merc

In my opinion that is one of the best looking coins we have ever minted. Nothing like seeing that silver shine in the dirt. Welcome to TNet and will be looking for more of those merc finds. HH and GL

Congrats on the first, I bet it felt great! I'd keep looking around that ballfield...good luck and HH!

Yes sir you are doing great keep it up....................................

Congrats on your first Merc!!

Keep hitting that field and you just might find a Barber or even a seated dime!!

I just got my first in June. Its a great feeling huh!? Congrats.

Looks like you found a good spot, search that place good and I'm sure you will find more stuff.
Congrats on the merc.

Another gorgeous Merc plucked from the kingdom of earthworms. Congrats on the great find!

I agree with SC_hunter - Mercs are gorgeous, and my personal favorite coin. Some hunters are pulling them up left and right. I've only found two so far. I'm sure there are more out there with your name on them. Sounds like you're hunting a very promising site.

Your off to a good start.
6 years from now and you'll have a display full.

Excellent merc, dude, dude, I got my first merc today too, a 1917.
I'd love a war nickle, you should show a pic of that too.

Good for you, great finds,
good luck and
HH.

That what it all about - 'the firsts'. I still get a thrill finding mine, but its becoming harder.

Way to go. I have been hunting off and on for about 2 years. Just found my first Merc. earlier this summer. Love that feeling when you see it shinning in the dirt!

Now you broke the seal. Time to get going finding more and more. It seems that once you have this little hurdle out of the way you will have confidence that it is possible for you to find more.

Congrats.

Congrats, found my first merc this spring, great feelin. The ace picked it up at about 6 inches+ which is at its limit for the most part on that type target. I have found a lot of clad at 1-4 inches there. Found out the current school was built on the site of the original school and fill dirt was brought in. Can't wait to go back to that old school with a deeper machine. Didn't mean to hijack your thread. Great find, keep on keepin on.
