After a busy couple of days socialising we took a much needed waltz down to the river bank. The heavy fog didn’t lift all day, so we felt strangely cocooned from reality, with just the Rooks yelling in the trees and the beeps from the machines to accompany us! This is the same area we did last weekend, so didn’t expect much, so quite pleased with our little stash of musket balls, buttons and lead bits. I found a lovely 1909 half penny, and a modern ring…. Another busy week coming up, so just pleased we got some fresh air and some time doing what we love the most! xx

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

Congrats on the finds !
Anyone in this hobby that lives in the UK has got it made - endless great finds just waiting to be found !
So true the history is unlimited, a dew years old or a few thousand years old.

Great to see you took some mental health time this weekend blossom and dug some finds once again.
Love the patina on the Half Penny-such a rich dark green.
Trying to figure out the last find, the ring looking one.

awesome tree pic, we had the same type of day here (10 minutes from Washington,DC) today felt like I was in avalon while I was hunting

Still got a couple of broken Tudor Spec. Buckles, so still in 'Hammered Country', as I call it.
I was fishing all day & the fog was thicker than that & never lifted. Caught nothing, I'm very rusty at fishing now that Detecting took over most of my Hobby time. Need to work less to fit both in.

Exactly, this area is approx 30 ha. So there is plenty of “Hammered country“ still to cover! The only downside is the fields get used for events thru the summer so can be quite trashy, which we are not used to, and do not like 😬 xx

Hmm fishing… 🤔 I’d say ditch the fishing rods and stay with the detecting!! 😆 xx

''Trash Hunting'' is what I call this hobby, never Treasure Hunting. Just something to suck up & if your quick at getting it in your pouch & off the field, its gone for good. Quick is what is important when covering large areas, unless you have unlimited time & no-one has that.
