Okay, so the title is a bit misleading. All I really found was about 80 cents in clad while searching in front of a church that's been around since the 1880's.
The real treasure was when a kid came up to me, probably about 10 and asked what i was doing. I was in the process of digging a quarter signal and showed him the quarter I had found.

"So your doing this for loose change?"
"Aw, not really, that's just something that comes on it's own. But sometimes, you find some valuable stuff. Like this quarter, it's just a quarter but they add up quick.
Sometimes, you find silver, and those are worth more than their face value if you get
enough of em *because* they are silver."
"Huh. Well, I've got a few dimes from the 1880's and some other stuff my dad gave me, think it's worth anything?"
"Hard to say, depends on the year, the mint, the condition...have your folks take you to a coin dealer and have him take a look. But make sure you hang on to em. They might be worth a lot more later on."
"Cool"

With that, he walked away and even ignored a few of his friends who called to him. Hopefully I put the bug in him :)

Sounds like he was already daydreaming about finding coins when he walked away. ;D
