A little button help please

Was out at a local park again today, and found this button. Checked what the spelling on the front meant, and it came up with "The Order of the Garter". Which is an English organization. Is this a button from one of their uniforms? It's heavy, weighing in at 3.3 grams. It cleaned up nice, and there are no markings on the back of it. It just a really nice looking button. Hopefully, someone can give me some insight into this item. I've pictured a couple of different shots of the front of it. It's 13/16" across for size.

The only thing that I could find is this one on e-bay,But it isn't exactly like yours but it
is close.I would say that yours is a older button that one on this link.Very nice looking button.
But,I am sure someone will give a better ID than this.I will keep looking.

It's just the UK royal coat of arms (also of the British Government) in round form. The Order of the Garter is incorporated within the royal coat of arms, and it's motto appears around the center, which represents the garter,: HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. It's almost always partially obscured. The motto across the bottom is the royal motto.

That's what I had thought also. This one is pretty heavy, and a one piece item, and I think that the ones in the previously pictured were two piece and brass. Not sure what this one is made of, but it had been in the ground for awhile, as it was almost 3 inches down in a remote part of the park. I had just figured that it was lost sometime during WW II, as the park is near an old air base that during the war had several 1000 men there, and some from England as well. Thought maybe one of them had lost it. What ever it is, it's a nice button.
