A lucky find??

My wife finally took me out to a local stream to look for gold today with my new WHITES GMT iron detector (since that is all i have found with it so far). after several hours of digging up rusty nails and car parts, I got a very strong marginal signal so I dug down about 12 inches and up popped this. Due to the amount of encrustation it looks to be early 20th century. Sure wish I could find some gold with this machine!!

some folks on here would say that old horseshoe is as good as gold! lots of relic guys around here love that rusty iron. interesting find.
