I took the wife to Northbrook [north of Chicago] today so she could attend a meeting.
I had three hours to kill so naturally I took the detector along.
First I hunted a corner for 2 hours where a 1920s school once stood. I only found a few clad so I took a ride and spotted a little park with big trees. I hunted around the trees and only found more clad. Headed back to the truck still swinging and got a good signal.
Pushed in the plugger about 3 inches and hit gravel. Pulled out the plug , dug down two more inches and found this Merc. . Then I found a wheat, the token , and 4 more wheats all in a 30 by 30 ft area. All in the gravely mix under about 3 inches of topsoil. Luckily the meeting ran late so I didn't get scolded for getting back a little late.
Best luck, Merf
