Minelab vanquish, Quest x10 pro, Quest x10 idmaXx
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I took the wife to Northbrook [north of Chicago] today so she could attend a meeting.
I had three hours to kill so naturally I took the detector along.
First I hunted a corner for 2 hours where a 1920s school once stood. I only found a few clad so I took a ride and spotted a little park with big trees. I hunted around the trees and only found more clad. Headed back to the truck still swinging and got a good signal.
Pushed in the plugger about 3 inches and hit gravel. Pulled out the plug , dug down two more inches and found this Merc. . Then I found a wheat, the token , and 4 more wheats all in a 30 by 30 ft area. All in the gravely mix under about 3 inches of topsoil. Luckily the meeting ran late so I didn't get scolded for getting back a little late.

Best luck, Merf

Merf,
That token is sooooooooooo cool! Your Merc looks to be in great shape too.
Congrats Dude,
MM

Terrific finds! Do they still make Sealtest Ice Cream? I haven't seen it in Michigan, I do remember it tho, maybe NY?

Nice finds!! Congrats on the Merc!

Wat to go! I like that token.

Good job!

Very cool token and of course a Merc will make your day!

Congratulations!

Good stuff! That token is in pretty good shape and the Merc looks new.

it seams to me that most merc's that are found are 1944. do you notice the same?

Looks like you've got a sweet hunting spot! Awesome digs.

Nice assortment of coinage Merf!
Pretty merc.
Unusual token, what is sealtest?

Keep safe...

Nice Bat Masterson token! I think that Sealtest ice cream is still made- I think it's an east coast ice cream-I'll ask my parents in NY if it's still around.

Another successful hunt.

Usually when the coins are under gravel Nate and I's detectors have trouble getting them if they are deep(5+ inches). Looks like your Tesoro is doing you fine.

Sealtest Ice Cream is long history. It used to be Breyers/Sealtest and Light and Lively was their diet ice milk brand.
The token might be worth something to a collector.

Very nice token and congrats on the Merc! HH, Mike
