On a weekend outing we came across a nice waterfall and swimming hole in the woods just outside of town. After a cool swim I grabbed my metal detector and scrambled up the hillside just above the falls. BAM! My first strong signal was directly in line with the falls and just below the crest of the slope. Four or 5 inches down I hit 'Big Silver'. A light rinse with my water bottle revealed my first Walker Halk, a 1917!
Minutes later the sky began to darken, the wind picked up, and the thunder began to rumble. Still I was already ahead and happy to have Lady Liberty securely in my pocket. My wife arrived shortly after to rescue me before the downpour.
Thanks for Looking!
