Advice on tool

My girlfriends brother wants to trade these artifacts for video gaming equipment that I'm trying to sell. The points are 2 inches each. The black tool I'm clueless on. He said his dad found them in a field in southern Illinois. Tool is 5.5 inches long. Very smooth like it has been well used .Can anyone tell me about the tool? Thanks in advance.

Hello Cosmo, nice looking points and "slick" tool. It was used when tanning a hide/ for rubbing in the oils( including brains) prior to being cured with smoke. Better known as brain tanning. How do you value the artifacts vs. your electronics? You don't see many slicks - especially that nice of a one.

Yeah it looks like a hematite chisel tool.

Its a great deal for you as in value. Id trade but how old is her brother? If he is younger than 18 you might want to get permission first.
