The weather was so nice today I had to get down to the ink hole. I dug for a half hour but I think I'm getting to something good. I only found this pontiled jar but this thing has a really crude rolled lip. And a very jagged open pontil. Anyone know anything about these? Thanks for looking- Justin

Beauty! Darn I wish I had a hole like yours where I could casually pull out pontiled bottles and shards of historical flasks after work, haha. Absolutely awesome, keep 'em coming!

Taught science in a high school built in 1933. Lots of old stuff. We stored acids in bottles like that one. Glass stoppers closed them up.

Another nice find Justin. Looks like a food jar to me but I've been wrong before.

Thanks everyone. I do believe this to be a food related or a utility jar. I'm thinking possibly 1850s or a little earlier. I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can really dig in.

I would be stoked, skip work, school, wife and kids....Get er dun! jgas
