Fun story. Working on an oil field service vessel in the 'Gulf of America' we had a ships officer who was a clean window guy. Top of his 12 hour shift, he'd get out and clean all the windows on the bridge.
Working a near shore job, the birds had taken to perching atop the bridge and defecating on 'his windows'

He came up with the grand idea to stuff a pair of coveralls to make a scarecrow.
It worked absolutely fabulously and he was quite full with himself, only having to wash away salt spray from his glass.

One morning (just before his noon to midnight shift) He came out to wash the bridge windows and to his surprise, his scarecrow was under serious attack!

A clever guy on the crew climbed 'monkey island' and stuffed a few cans of sardines into the the sleeves, pockets, neck.... if you can imagine
