Just thought I would share...This is by far the nicest axe I have ever found. Measures 6 1/4 inches long.

Where do you live Iowa Trout? This was not from this year...I have just been sharing my finds with everyone. I hunted in Northwest Iowa for about 30 years. I live in California now but go back to Iowa and hunt every summer for a few weeks. I grew up in Spirit Lake/Okoboji.

I loved growing up there and yes, a whole lot of history in the lakes region. Lots of sites and everything from Paleo to Mississippian. Keep lookin Iowa....you will find a killer axe!

I think it was perfectly made but there is a small gouge on one side that is most likely from a disk or other farming equipment.

They didnt make them here like that. nice looking ax

I just figured he posted the wrong picture.

Nice axe.

Yeah, I said almost perfect because of the gouge in it from farming equipment. I guess I should have said that in the beginning or left out the word almost.

Our family farm is in Blairsburg. I spent several summers up in Spencer staying with my cousin, and I went to Iowa State. I hunted pheasants up there, not indian stuff.

Chad, when did you live in Estherville? I've been there several times and played in a baseball game there once, probably back in '82.
