What's new

Alzheimer’s patient just REGAINED her memory, speech, mobility, AND bladder control after a SINGLE dose of psilocybin.

An expansion of the expression, "We are a nation of laws, not men";

The phrase "a government of laws, and not of men" was famously written by Founding Father and second U.S. President John Adams.

Thoughts on Government (1776): John Adams used the phrase (writing "an empire of laws, and not of men") in his 1776 pamphlet Thoughts on Government to describe his ideal republican structure.

The hard part;

Confirmation bias enters in to observation because we want a positive outcome and dismiss other possibilities like "cause and coincidence"!

"My Manticore detected a one gram gold nugget at three feet!" Conclusion?

- Geowizard
Maybe the ground had a cavity or air chamber of 3 ft over the nugget could be a realistic conclusion?

Without going back over already discussed details,, the fact is that Alternative remedies and medicines can and do work.. there is no guarantee that they will work for everyone in the same way, but that can also be said of said of all pharma products , hence the obligation to mention the multiple 'side effects' (or effects) of all issued products,, hence more or less removing liability for when something goes wrong.. Take 'paracetamol' for example, whatever name it is being sold under, the dangers are enormous to the body filtration organs, but it is sold and consumed in huge quantities, especially in the western world.. but you don't have every keyboard chemist shouting about that, nor is it on a danger list, when it should be !.. I am using this as an example to show how long trusted and certified products can have disastrous effects on certain folks but it is generally overlooked, because it is big money business.. But anyone who uses a harmless natural compound, to overcome a certain illness or situation, is deemed irresponsible and the keyboard chemists are on hand to fire all sorts of medical jargon into the mix to muddy the waters and detract from the viability of the molecule or compound.. this in my view is the opposite of science, it is the purposeful stagnation of knowledge, and science is there to continue progress in whichever way the evidence leads... even into realms that are considered taboo by the controlled minds..

I agree and this is the main reason I posted this topic is for the reader to decide on possible alternative for someone in their family only after realistic research first.
Thank you AstralDruid for your reasonable approach and your input is very welcome. :headbang:
This is always for the reader to decide for themselves first and foremost.

This topic is one that i am heavily involved with,, having been part of the pharma 'production and development process' from the early 90s.. I am still surrounded by highly trained multiple PhD accredited doctors who are busy with the next generations of medicines that the general public will have to suffer in the near future.. They are still stuck, bogged down by regulations, accepted norms and maxims. I openly voice my dissent and often have to deal with tirades of ridicule and hints at madness... but it is all good.
There is no 'one shot fix' for everything , so folks should feel around a little, take note of alternatives, speak with doctors and others who have had personal experience with 'folk remedies' ... and from that position make a choice whether to accept the Medical/Pharma approach, perhaps take an alternative route or even do nothing at all.... as these are all options. When this is done , the person is reclaiming their sovereign right to choose what happens to their own body. This in turn creates responsibility for one's own health.

Doctors are bogged down with regulations, insurance companies, academic bodies, and big pharma. We are not patients anymore but commodities to be exploited first, cured second, if only there is a financial incentive to do so. Please remember that.

Agree Crow..
And when you do get to see the Doc, the bugger just googles everything and writes the profitable script.... while probably recommending Statins and scams/scans galore...
Big machine and we are the abundant 'gormless' fuel

"Here is an example of proof of what I just stated:

Per Capita Investment: International higher education assessments show that Johns Hopkins pulls in nearly $250,000 in private corporate funding per professor, with the majority of those private industry funds originating from the pharmaceutical sector.

So ask yourself the question this why would a professor talk about or endorse an alternative anything when they know who is buttering their slice of bread."

Reply:

Proof? Here's proof:

Federal Regulators (FDA) require by law Pharmaceutical companies to undergo very extensive testing and a multiplicity of replication of testing (for repeatability and dosing) before release of pharmaceuticals to the market. It can and often does take Years! Who in the *ell is qualified to do that testing? First guess would be... the most advanced research professionals on the planet! They are the leaders in the most advanced testing and research institutions, laboratories and facilities in creation. At the very best universities known to mankind. That's who!

I recently (last night) did personal research on the process of gluten testing in food products! Not drugs but how is gluten measured? What is the "gluten free" test?

gluten analysis:

National Institutes of Health
National Library of Medicine
National Center for Biotechnology Information

"Analyzing Gluten Content in Various Food Products Using Different Types of ELISA Test Kits"

Do you even know where it all started? (I'm having my doubts)

The American College: A Criticism-A book that was written by
Abraham Flexner that had absolutely no medical training, background, or medical degree

He was not a physician, a scientist, or a medical educator.

He was hired by the Carnegie Foundation.
He operated as a highly strategic bureaucratic architect, deploying a brilliant combination of leveraged philanthropy, strict structural ultimatums, and accounting standardization via the [General Education Board (GEB)

MechanismHow It WorkedStrategic Outcome
The Matching MultiplierFlexner would offer a medical school $1 million, but only if they raised an additional $2 million or $3 million from local donors or state legislatures.Turned $94 million in direct GEB medical grants into hundreds of millions in total university infrastructure.
Monopolizing WealthLocal philanthropists and taxpayers wanted to secure the prestigious "Rockefeller match."Siphoned almost all regional, independent philanthropy away from alternative or unapproved schools, starving them out.

The primary purpose of the Flexner Report (1910) and the subsequent General Education Board funding strategy was to establish a rigid monopoly on Western biomedical and pharmaceutical education. Organizations like the [Rockefeller Foundation] and the [Carnegie Foundation] deliberately used their capital to marginalize, defund, and eradicate holistic healthcare models.

The strategic denial of funding and institutional support manifested through several systemic mechanisms:

Strategy DeployedMechanism of ActionImpact on Natural & Alternative Medicine
Explicit Exclusion of CapitalRockefeller funds were strictly tied to schools adopting a laboratory-based, pharmaceutical, and surgical model.Homeopathic, naturopathic, eclectic, and chiropractic schools were completely bypassed and received no grants.
Enforced Curricular UltimatumsSurviving institutions were forced to align their curricula with the biomedical guidelines advocated by Abraham Flexner to qualify for funding. The few prominent medical schools that previously taught homeopathy were forced to eliminate or sharply curtail their holistic training.
Legislative & State Licensing BarriersRockefeller and Carnegie foundations successfully lobbied state medical boards to standardize licensing based strictly on the allopathic model.Graduates of alternative medical programs were systemically barred from taking state licensing exams, making it legally impossible to practice.
The Funding Blackout (Mass Closures)Because alternative and natural health schools relied on smaller, grassroots tuition models rather than major corporate endowments, they could not survive the newly imposed infrastructure requirements.Between 1910 and 1935, the total number of medical institutions in the United States plummeted from 160 to just 66, effectively wiping out non-allopathic institutional training.

  • University of Rochester: Received $5,000,000 (1920).
  • Vanderbilt University: Received $4,000,000 (1919).
  • Washington University in St. Louis: Received $2,345,000.
  • Johns Hopkins Medical School: Received over $2,200,000 (including the Welch Endowment).
  • University of Chicago: Received $2,000,000 via a joint fund with the Rockefeller Foundation (1916).
  • Yale Medical School: Received $1,582,000.

How much funding did alternative medicine or natural heath centres receive?
Alternative medicine and natural health centres received exactly $0 in funding from Rockefeller philanthropic organizations.

So there you have it in a nut shell. The pill bottle vs the supplement.
Today's medicine has saved countless lives through vaccines, surgeries, trauma, infections.
It certainly has a place in this ever growing world.
Though to slam the door in the face of an alternative option isn't warranted either.

I believe that if the 2 can coexist it would be a better outcome for all of us.

If some former president takes it and it works it might be a true miracle.

If we disagree on the rules, does that make the rules nonsense? :dontknow:

Two weeks ago, in the news:

The feds have regulated hemp for several reasons since 1937 and continue to do so.

In spite of all the rumors, a rational mind would agree with the policy.

I grew up in the "flower child" generation. I can speak from both positions of an insider and an outsider on the subject. As an avid, outspoken proponent, after a full assessment of current events including the state level legalization experiment, there is no tangible evidence of social or medical benefit to be gained in the use of cannabis. Federal Legislation stands. We mortals on the ground can debate the issue!

"We are a nation of laws, not men."

Here again we have classic diversion techniques.. The original statement concerned Hemp restrictions being absurd and the reply diverted the attention to cannabis use in society being questionable... Although they are from the same plant they are two very different products, being defined by their THC content... THC being the bit that get's you stoned, and CBD (hemp) being the relaxant and destressing bit.. So the comment by Unclemac regarding hemp use, has nothing to do with the place of Cannabis in society... Which is an interesting discussion in its own right...

We the governed;

A Forum composed of tens of thousands of people from all walks of life, each having fifty percent of their behavior descending out of thousands of years of genetics. Noting: you can calculate 10 generations is 2 exp 10 = 1024 participants in your genetics from the last ten generations! Do the math.

The other fifty percent of our behavior comes from our sand box. That's the place where our experience developed our behavior.

The reason Western culture has flourished in a World where others have failed is "Government"!

We can slice it and dice it individually or collectively. Three people in the room will slice it and dice it differently. Society has to be organized under a rules based system. The other option is anarchy.

I saw a film clip years ago titled “Jack Paar in Africa”. He visited a group of pigmies and was shown their cannabis field. The jungle climate hits 120 degrees and black resin drops off the leaves as they grow 20 feet high. The village chief had a big smoking pipe in his mouth and he had a servant pipe tender who kept his pipe full and lit. The chief never took the pipe out of his mouth. NO WONDER THEY ARE SO SHORT!

Right and wrong? Good and evil? these are philosophical questions. Alpha personalities want to lead the show. Try the Alpha hat on and see if it fits! Big Money? Big Pharma? Who gets to make the rules? I have an idea, we can decide right here on the TN Forum! :hello:

A simple individual case of cause and effect. Does that change the course of humanity?

It comes down to some pretty basic things.
What works for the individual.

It's all a lifestyle choice and nothing will really change the mind of the person that has chosen the path they have gone down

90/10 rule applies personally eat nothing but organically sourced foods 90% of the time.
10% I can cheat a bit and the body will take care of that.

One can look at the supplements or the prescription bottle.
It's a life choice and it's an individual's choice of what works out best for them.

Age/mobility/how much can a person do in a day/or how little and living with the discomforts getting through the day.

I remember overhearing (10+ yrs ago) my specialist/researcher said to another patient.
"If you don't start eating healthy the conversation ends right here"

Probably one of the most honest statements that a doctor could state to a person.

how about this?.... "psychopaths rule the world" ... drive down the street ANYWHERE, even sparsely populated rural areas, let alone huge city freeways, in the morning commute. THOUSANDS of folk going everywhere all at once... We all inherently know right from wrong, good from evil.... we leave each other alone and go about our business of survival in an orderly way.... then there are the monsters of the world that see an opportunity and exploit it for personal gain... Think 9/11 ... what was that? it was a sucker punch that only took out, what 12 square city blocks? (and since then rebuilt). But it changed the world forever, by exploiting "trust". Psychopaths manipulate "true believers" for their own personal agenda. Look at how much of our own current political discourse is based on nonsense... Haitians eating pets and the like... keep poking the masses until you find something that resonates....
