Hello all needless to say I'm super excited
Today I texted scrappy told him I dig a cartwheel
Penny. I get home start cleaning it and realize
It's not a copper it's silver. Not just silver but
Colonial silver Spanish silver
1757 Ferdinand VI 8 reale
Thanks for looking hh gl
Shout out to barrel and scrappy making me learn
The deus. My go to machine !

After researching an old tavern I read about and a road between to small colonial
Towns I realized a lot of the land was and has been still woods I was shot from s long hunt with the *******s of bramble on Friday so I was staying close to home I decided to hit that spot it's flat ground
And easy access. I get tuned up and started hitting targets right away. A few old wazzits a few Indians
After about an hour I'm walking slowly out toward car
I am using the deus at 7.8 frequency and swinging slow. I hear the chirp it's crystle clear
I was not expecting this. At 10 inches out poop's the brown disk
Like I said I'm thinking cartwheel penny Needless to say I'm sure glad I was wrong. Thanks again
Hh gl.

Oh Charlie... that is something else my man. Congrats on a true once in a lifetime find. WOW!

Wow! What a find! Nice looking coin, had to be quite a thrill when you realized what you had. Sure beats a cartwheek penny!

I can't believe that this amazing coin has not gotten more attention. I guess there just aren't as many colonial diggers on tnet as there are clad and jewelry diggers. Shame this has not made banner yet.

Blown Away! WOW...NICE NICE NICE find!

Congrats on making Banner! That is one of the best 8-Reales I've ever seen posted anywhere. Looks great up top!

What a heart stoppingly beautiful find! Banner well deserved.

Looks sweet up top! Excellent job cleaning too. Just killer man.

So pleased to see this amazing coin up top where it belong!!!! Right next to my buddy Oxbows Mass silver....oh wait a minute. They must be putting that o e up later 8-)

I wonder if they had dug it if they'd think it was worthy. ;)

Wow, wow, wow!!! That is quite a find. Looks like your research paid off big time.

No worries guys, at least I can dream...

Sorry Eastcoasthunter! I don't mean to steal your thunder, just fantasizing...

I'm pretty sure my opinion and yours are in line with eachother. That's what I think. No doubt in my mind this beautiful 8R should be up there all day every day. Also no doubt in my mind a 1652 Mass silver should be as well. That's all I will say as I certainly do not want to throw this incredible post off track. I have nothing but respect and admiration for this huge Spanish silver. Once again I congratulate you on a coin that I would be over the moon to find

Thank you to everyone on treasure net , moderators as well
This has been my first full year of detecting
It has been a great hobby , it started as just trying a new thing .
Then I found treasure net and the stories I've read and banner finds from everyone were
Amazing I said I want to find that too !
I started reading and research. Found some sites well the rest is "history"
Thank you all for giving me a banner

Big thank you to Bartek and scrappy the
Bas$)&ds of bramble.
Once again thanks keep the coil to the soil
Happy hunting , good luck

heck yeah! That's what it's all about! It's a great find and one very few of even the most experienced Detectorists will ever find. Fantastic banner coin, welcome to the addiction!

Every close to banner worthy dug coin has a balance, it's divided between how much it is a great detecting find, and how much it is a great coin in general. Unfortunately it seems sometimes what's the better detecting find, like the 8 reale, gets up top, where the MA silver, which is the better coin in general... just maybe not in as pretty condition, seems to have to be fought for to make it. This really does not make sense to me, and if anything should be the other way around... the better coin should easy make it, and the better detecting find be pushed by votes.... and yes, the big 8 is definitely worthy!

:headbang:
Welcome to the Banner Club...with an awesome find...congratulations!

Yes, Charlie! What's funny (everyone) is Charlie is so laid back. Doesn't care as much about finds as the hunt with friends. Cheers to you buddy, my hat is off.

Basstards of Bramble we are!
