amelia island treasure -ivan chats with the "carribean pirate treasure tv group"oct4

they found the small fresh water spring that i showed them on the map ....but since metal detecting is banned there and its a bird nest site to boot --no digging could be done sadly -----plus sadly they got scared off by the bull sharks in nassau sound area when attempting to dive and find my wreck site area I told them of --the poor visibility and pushy bull sharks scared the crap outta them making them go to a much safer clearer water late 1800 / early 1900 vessel wreck site ..that the the dive boat operator wanted to get checked out ---(not the one i told them about)---treasure diving is not for the faint of heart / easily scared folks...LOL

the show aired on wednesday oct 4th 11 pm on the travel channel and was called the "the lost treasure of Amelia Island"

Wow !! Thats bad a$$ ivan congrats. Ill have to check it out.

Bull sharks are not the sharks to be trifled with.

Cool Ivan, Dr. Lubos Kordak and I did an episode with them too called "The Robin Hood of Pirates" in Samana Bay in the DR. Unfortunately the weather forced us to become spelunkers instead of deep sea divers. :-(

Will watch your episode.

Jason

Bull sharks are not the sharks to be trifled with.

I was thinking the same thing. Bull sharks have been listed as one of the four primary man eaters of the shark world. Don't think I would want to put that to the test either.

just eat them before they eat you

treasure diving isn't for "soft folks" gotta have serious stones to get it --the treasure is there , but getting its not going to be easy --if it was everyone would do it...LOL

Just dive with people that swim slower than you and carry a bang stick[emoji23]

Thats right. Like I always tell my dive buddy, I don't have to outswim the shark. I only have to outswim you.

Pretty cool show. I say put on the shark chain mail & get to diving.

now "free" on demand --

Caught Ivan when the show first aired.

I'm glad I didn't inhale my beer in surprise, but I shouldn't have been shocked - Ivan belonged there as the guide!

What did surprise me was that the TV producers would get someone with great local knowledge to make the show really interesting and real.

And no, the pretty lady would not look good with a bull shark bite or 2 out of her.

Drat the dratted archies for not permitting detecting.

Glad I got back on the forums. Hate when I miss stuff like this. Will watch tonight. Thanks Ivan.

Very good show Ivan. I've scoured, mapped and md'd all over the place here. It's nice to hear about historical events that I haven't read or researched yet. Too bad we can't md over there. Maybe someday..........
