Ancient Gold!!!

Hello all, Crusader invited me to one of his fields today for my regular beating. I started off well with a hammered at the end of the first run Followed by a couple of Roman and then another hammered By this time the tractor had caught up with us and was pushing us to the side of the field. He was coming straight at me when I dug what I thought was a gilded button

Turned out to be a Celtic gold Stater from 45-10bc

My first Celtic coin

I went on to get a third hammered and beat my record for the day

If you are a sincere metal detectorist there is no going backwards. A cartwheel, if you have not found one yet, is just as important as a gold celtic in my books.
I would be happy in either way, they are both rare to find and nice objects.

Of course, I will be over the moon when I get one. I just try and make it look like I don't want one because of the stick I get for not having found one yet

I'll bet when I do get one, I'll have the same reaction as with the Stater
