Announcing the Tnet Sur(E)Prize!!

Choose anyone you want that is a tnet member then send something cool to them as well. Getting the addresses without letting them know can be challenging if you don't know someone else that might know it. I was lucky...when I was sending out the first few it was close enough to Christmas no one was asking why I wanted their address! lol Good luck!! Glad you liked your package!! That is a cool goody to get!

ANNOUNCING THE T-NET SUR(E)PRIZE

Well, it's getting to be that time of year. I was chatting with one of the other T-Net members the other day and he came up with the idea that I should send a surprise package of my cinnamon rolls to a selected member of T-Net. We've discussed it and mulled over how to accomplish what we're planning do, and of course I get to do all the work!

I've decided it's a good idea, so T-net members this is the announcement of the T-Net Sur(e)prize. A selected member of T-Net will receive a package of my cinnamon rolls, overnighted to their home address. No explanation, it will just arrive.

Here's the catch. You as recipient (after enjoying the rolls) will be responsible to refill the container, and ship it out to your selection of T-Net member. You will also need to come to this forum and announce that you were the recipient so we know you actually received the package. At that point, simply PM me with the selected T-Net member you plan to ship to, and I will keep track, so we know when the chain breaks.

If for example you are the recipient of a T-Net Sur(e)prize, and for whatever reason are unable at this time to refill and reship the container, I simply need a PM telling us and I'll start another package to someone I select.

The PM data will remain personal, though I may share it with the 'sponsor' of this activity, I have it on good authority that the 'sponsor' finds it remarkably easy to play dumb!..............He won't admit he is involved and no, I won't tell you who he is either...yes, this means you Evy! lol

I may be able to get multiple chains started and I may not. I know several people on this forum who are truly noteworthy sharers. I hope to be able to bless each of these. I feel certain they will refill and reship rapidly. Let's see how many chains we can get going.

Remember, if you're a receiver of the T-Net Sur(e)Prize you need to come here and publicly acknowledge that you got it, and then you need to refill and ship the package to someone you choose (a T-net member). The target does NOT have to be a charter member to be included in this process. Anyone that has an active ID on T-Net is eligible.

If you object to the process described above, please let us know so we can exclude you from any of the distributions........... :)

So, don't hold your breath, but with this announcement being public, you can expect to see someone acknowledge receipt of the Sur(e)Prize soon. Check in here and let me know if you like the idea, and want to start a chain of your own, I will send you the information sheet I include in the package and the information for the packaging I will be using for the rolls. I and/or the sponsor will attempt to keep track of all the chains. It is almost inevitable that someone will get multiple packages from different people because of their history of giving and sharing. That's okay. They deserve it! They'll just have to come here and acknowledge it.

:) I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and super Christmas. Thanks for reading, come back often to keep up on the status. Love you guys!! ~hugsnprayers~ Cyn

Wow! Look at how far we have come since the first package and post! Lots of folks have gotten a smile by receiving a package and even many more smiles from folks that have enjoyed seeing their packages and the stories to go with them! I am glad everyone has been enjoying being able to share in this. So very glad we did it! I can't wait to see who gets what next! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

Wow! I've been almost speechless for a couple of hours while I try to put this in perspective.

First of all I want to acknowledge TexasTee2007 as she has include me in the Sur(e)Prize process.

I am overwhelmed Tee by your generosity in this time of work and stress in your life. I received the package today, and I have to say the first thing I saw was the return address, and opened it almost immediately to find the card you included. I am going to include the front of the card in this posting because it so well represents what many of us here on this thread and throughout T-Net believe.

Then, I want so say to everyone here, that I have often browsed the Indian relic forum and the most exciting finds for me have always been the translucent points. There are several gorgeous examples in that forum.

Today I received three points from Tee, and each one is a superb work of art! I will take some pictures, but I know in my heart I will not be able to do them justice.

I really don't have an in depth knowledge of points and will have to bow to the experts on the Indian forum to tell me just what I have. Tee tells me they are the result of her husband and her husbands father keeping their eye out when working the land. Thank you Vicki and thank you Vance!

Tee, I want you to know they will continue to be "Treasured" the rest of my days. I will carry them to CTH III for those on here that want a close up view.

The two larger points appear to be obsidian and the smaller one is opaque, but gorgeous in black and red across it's surface.

With all that said, here come the pictures:

Folks, I'm still in shock. I got home today, saw a package at my front door, and like others couldn't remember ordering anything. :icon_scratch: As soon as I saw the "SHARK PIT" label on the box I knew who it was from. I wasn't familiar with the Tnet Sur(E)Prize at all until I opened the box & read what was happening. ;D

ROB,
I want to thank you SO much for all of these fantastic goodies you sent me. I really was not expecting this, and must say you will be a tough act to follow!

Folks, if Rob is not one of the finest members on TN, then I don't know who is. I'm still in tears. :'( :tongue3:
Just look at all the great stuff packed into this chest. This chest is better than Pamela Anderson's by far! ::)

*Two t-shirts (in my size too) *Three ball caps * Tokens *Old coins *Cookie coins * A GOLD wedding band *Cuff links * Mega sharks teeth * Old Anheuser Busch bottle *Cookies (yum) *Coin holders & relic baggies!!!!
That's WAY more than my wife got me for Christmas. (over the last ten years)

Cynangyl,
Thank you for this great idea. :icon_thumleft: You can bet I'll be carrying on the tradition soon to some luck TN member.

I am without a doubt very honored to receive this package Rob.

Thank you,
Doug
P.S. Since you sent me a ring are we now married? :-*

Man did the post office man handle the nice display or what. I had it all in neat order & it got all mixed up! :tongue3:
Well I'm glad it made it there in some what good shape. I hate to tell you this but that ring is really brass! I just cleaned it up real good with some never dull. Sorry about that. ;D
After I received the chest from Nana I had to think about who to send it to next.
Doug does so much to give back to our hobby, T-net & his community with his displays he gives out...
And always has a lot of humor in his post...
I figured he was a good choice!
So congrats Buddy!
It was a blast putting the Chest together for you!
Now have fun passing it on!
Rob

P.S. I'm already taken big Guy! ;D :D :laughing7:

Thanks Rob.
A brass ring is just fine. You have been more than generous. I put your letter in my metal detecting memories binder I started last year. All the good stuff goes in there.
Now who to send the treasure chest off to next? :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: Hmmmmmm..................

Wow, Doug you were not kidding when you told me about this.
I had no Idea.
I never even checked this thread out.
What a cool idea.
Hmmmm, I have a lot of 4-h stuff!

sweeet! books like that are priceless!

Hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
Wish I coulda sent more, but I'm a poor old man who has many different, unusual and unique recipes for preparing Ramen noodles...
To me, books are valuable, not as Robert Heinlein wrote about in "Fahrenheit 451."

"You can tell alot about a person by the books they have in their library."-Scott 2010

However, I am a rich man for having such great friends here!

Very Best Wishes,

Scott

Tis obvious to me that you have many great friends because you make sure you ARE a great friend! You must be very wise as well if we judge from your library as that quote says! Sweet of you to bless Tee like that!

Boy was I Sur(e)Prized! I get home from detecting all day with a friend & find a box on my steps from Alabama? I thought I had ordered something on Ebay & forgot about it. (happens all the time ) But when I open it I find a treasure chest full of really cool stuff from Nana!! It made my day! Thanks so much Nana for thinking of me!(quote)

I cannot believe that a southern belle like Nana, put INSTANT grits in there!Modern times,I guess.
