annular broach makers mark? Help ID?

I found this silver annular buckle, or what ive been told it was, in my colonial site, on the pin part, it looks to be some kind of name or makers mark, the last letter I can make out to maybe be a Y. and the end decoration looks like a squirrel, it looks pressed in. please help.

What an interesting find - I cant help you with ID - (but I love early silver) - You might attempt a pencil rubbing , or perhaps pressing
it into some clay (from the art supply or hobby lobby ) to pick up a different look at these marks .

I think the hallmark is much bigger than you think, IDing will be near impossible, unless the Squirrel like object is enough to catch an experts eyes. See where I think the hallmark ends.
