another 2 hours of digging!!

spent 2 hours digging at my honey hole with pretty good results, I only moved about 15 5gal buckets of dirt to get this stuff....

Those are some really nice finds. I think the next to the last one may be worth a penney or two.I know you do not care about that but it looks like a pretty nice Benton to me. What are you thinking on it? Any idea on time frame? Great pictures as always!

hmmm, let me see, I was thinking and may be wrong, #1& 2 is a Copena ?, 3... ?, 4 &5 maybe a Benjamin ?, 6 & 7 maybe a Motley ?, 8,9, & 10 maybe a Benton? all 4 sides are beveled, man this one I didnt see till it was in the bottem of the sift, I could'nt belive it was'nt broke somewhere., 11 & 12 IM not to sure about, maybe a Mcintire? Man once you get the deposits off em they are beautiful points!!! I know that is a bad thing around here but I want to see those beauties the way they were used....

Tree are they coming out with heavy calcium deposits on them? Using muratic acid? They are yours to do with as you like and they look good. I would like seeing a before and after.

a pestle I think, fist tool like that Ive ever found. maybe Ill get lucky and find a axe too... that would be the icing on the cake for sure.

It is called an Acorn Pestle due to it's shape. Almost like a bell. They are for smashing nuts. I have some like it from Shelters also. Very desirable find. Holy cow you are doing well in there. Did you quit the day job?? haha

no but was slow that last few days and took off early. Ive only got about 10-12 hrs in all this so far.

You know I was kidding. Hopefully when you get done we can put an I.D on each one of those. Look for morters. Check both sides of every flat stone for cupped out areas. I am enjoying your finds not having time myself!

Tree, Hey thats neat. I love to play dirt monkey. I've always kept a small screen frame with 1/4 " mesh in the hole with me. As I'm going thru the wall dirt that falls down I like to screen it before I throw it out of the hole. Found lots of things I would have missed. Thanks for showing, good luck on that hole. regarding #1,2 We have a tool form called "Clear Fork Tool, around Texas that is believed to be a type of chisel. The butt end always has a beveled chisel edge and shows most the wear. It could have been hafted or hand held depending on the size and freshness of the tool. Thanks again, G.
