I'm just happy that it is a gun part, I so rarely get any

I've dug about 6 of the smaller musket ramrod thimbles in the last few years, but haven't been able to find the long piece in a long time. I think I've found three of those total.

Yes silver. The keyhole had a screw thread, not sure what for

The thimble looks restorable

Maybe you could get the same guy that did Dave's spoon for $15 to do your thimble too!
