Yesterday I went to one of six CW permissions I have. I did some exploring and found an area on the side of a small rise in the woods and got a semi decent signal. The ground there is semi icky with a lot of hot rocks. First target out was an eagle button. The dirt was different colored as the dirt around it, and I suspected another trash or burn area.
Check it out: This was all from yesterday.
This all came out of the same small hole. I had to resort to the pinpointer finally.
That's TEN bullets, mostly Sharps including the mushroomed one, a CS Gardner, two Washington Arsenals and 2 standard 3 ringers.
And YES you are looking at 25 Civil War buttons from the same hole. Five eagle general service, several white porcelain buttons, a rubber Goodyear's patent button and two different sizes of the iron underwear buttons.
I scrubbed a few of the minies and the eagles, but everything needs to be cleaned and put away.
My other sites still produce, however this much in 4 hours was way out of the ordinary.
The procedure was locate a target with the Deus, dig out three small shovel fulls of dirt, use the machine to locate the "good" targets, then pick them out with the pinpointer. Over and over and over again. I was hoping for an intact bottle, but no such luck.
There is also what's left of a tobacco pipe and a couple small pieces of stem, and a broken piece to a belt keeper.
