Good on ya brother ! That buckle definitely rocks ! The KG's are cool but the buckle just has
so much character - it almost looks medieval - like something crusader would find - Argentium.

Both of those coins are in good enough shape for the peroxide bath. It will take off all that crud and expose the detail. Hogge

Great finds! You have found the perfect area to search,i would stay in it and all around it for as long as you can... The coins and relics are great from this site!

great stuff. looks like you live a bit too far out on the island to be in the midst of a mid-17th century dutch (as opposed to mid-17th-18th cen. English) settlement, but seeing this stuff, i keep hoping you'll pull out a thaler or a rijksdaalder. fingers crossed!

I don't think I would bath it yet.. wait til Don or Ip SEE IT... THE BIGGER COIN doesn't look right to me... looks like a counterfeit... if it would be casted then a bath might ruin it...

Being a button hunter I sure like seeing those George II coppers pop up!

The halfpenny is pretty much the same time range as the Farthing. (1730s era)

Same type of coin as your find (halfpenny) but that's the older style bust, your's is earlier. (young head)

I went back to the field today and found 2 more coppers and a lot of iron !! these 2 coppers are really burned toast :dontknow: i can make out a few letters and a number or two but thats about it , they seem a differant size from the first 2 , ill keep them i know theres some really nice ones in that field and ill be back there .

That cool if the bigger one is even older i found 2 more today but they are pretty much fried !! they look smaller then the second one the half penny ? and your right look at all the iron i dug :laughing7: Dd60

sweet! silver is on the way, and it should be fairly intact. i'm still hoping you pull a thaler outta there...

Keep hunting that place. There's got to be some buttons there too!
