Smart Tracker XR8 gift from dad as a kid, 1983?
Garrett Master Hunter CX/12" high energy hothead. R.I.P (1991-2013)
I have 3 or 4 red schoolhouse's near me.

The first one I think dated early 1900's
found a couple Mercs and indian heads there.

The second I hunted today was built 1740.
Found these so far.
I only made 2 passes across a 200 foot field sweeping 20 feet wide. Was digging everything that sounded strong.
Mostly nails and some rusty iron.
But in one hole alone I pulled out the Quarter, Dime, Nickel, all in the same hole!
Not the first time either, my Garrett MH/CX was going nuts trying to decipher the loot.
Was about 6" down.

The wheaties came about 20 feet away among some junk.
Still have a lot more ground to cover.

I just researched another site if I get bored with this one,
a 1788 army encampment, (4633) men strong about 2 miles from my house.
2 months camped there, I am sure there is something left behind.
Just have to find the exact place, about 1/3rd of it is built up with homes.
But 2/3rds remains as a pond surrounded by woods. sounds good to me..

Those are some nice silver finds. Wow, 1740? Keep searching that place. You could be pulling up Georgian period coins from a spot like that, ya know like George 1,2,3 large copper pennys, the BIG British ones. Keep us posted on more finds from that spot. I love to see the old copper ;D

And they said the kids who attended those old schools never had any money with them...

Congratulations.

Nice haul, good variety.........and nice & bright photo!

Thanks, i'm good in photoshop:)

I was hoping for something older than 40's coins.
This school is right near where George Washington stopped by for a little chit chat with some troops under a tree.
Tree cut down, but the area is historic.
Pretty much looking now for random stretches of grass to hunt along the road too.
Hope to get back there on the weekend again.
